In 1996, under Pakistan law, the Dyes & Chemical division team of Ex-Ciba Geigy, incorporated Swiss Specialty Chemicals (Pvt.) Ltd., and became sole agents for Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Basel, in Pakistan.

In 2006, Ciba Specialty Chemicals textile Dyes & chemicals business was acquired by Huntsman, an American manufacturer & marketer of differentiated chemicals, worldwide. As a result, Swiss Specialty Chemicals (Pvt.) Ltd and Ciba amicably parted ways the same year.
